The Tories are dead. Labour is dead. The Liberal Democrats are dead. And we are bursting with life!

First up, I want it be known that The Four Star Party has a logo and it’s fully visible in Years & Years on multiple occasions. And it’ll be the circular one you see. However, we like to be a little bit different here, so I’ve developed an alternative version which includes the party strapline.

Now, I try and avoid politics where I can here, as I find in this day and age it can be very alienating. HOW DARE YOU DON’T AGREE WITH ME! I’m old enough to know that your political alligiences don’t define you as a person, you can’t take it at face value and it’s often more complex than that. I think that covers me. Excellent.

However, The Four Star Party are borderline fascists, so fuck them. Even though they’re not real. The ‘four star’ element comes from Emma Thompson’s character Viv Rook dropping the f-bomb on Question Time, regarding the conflict in the Gaza Strip. Hence the asterisk. Over time, her popularity grows and she ends up being the Prime Minister. She’s sort of like a British Marine Le Pen. But, you know, one that actually wins.

In the end, Rook bins the BBC, sets up some cheeky death camps and ends up going to prison for 27 years. Which is a pretty insulting way to deliver much of the series, so I urge you to watch it in full if you can. It’ll be worth it. Unless you’re in China. It got banned there. You’re probably not in China. But if you are: 欢迎!请购买这件 T 恤!

NB It’s pretty obvious if you’ve read the above, but please be aware that the circular design is the back print of the t shirt.
