Half of the assholes that roll in here can’t even describe their symptoms. They’re out cold or concussed or drunk or dumb. Or two years old. Or they can’t speak English.

For this one I was going to attempt to tap into Neuralink, given that what they do is very similar to the premise of the Symphatic Diagnoser. However, as with vast majority of the moon-faced manbaby’s companies, the logo is pretty terrible. Most notably laughable being Twitter’s rebrand to the now preposterously named ‘x’ platform. The platform whose logo is now merely an unmodified unicode character. Great work, lads. Well worth the money.

So I abandoned that and went for a full on Futura workout, mostly inspired by the HAL 9000 and ‘2001: A Space Odyssey‘ in general. Funny how a work of fiction from 50+ years ago can look more contemporary than a bullshit squiggle that looks like a 5 year old scrawled by accident in the present day.

As for the diagnoser, it was originally built in an attempt to transfer memories from one human to another. Unfortunately, that didn’t work and it ended up transferring feelings instead. Which turned out to be a happy accident, as it helped diagnose patient ailments more quickly and concisely. The only drawback being that the only person able to receive the signals had to be fitted with a transmitter in the neck. Said person would be Dr Peter Dawson from St. Juniper’s Hospital (in New York, not in England). Long story short, he encounters a patient who has been poisoned and actually dies on him, freaking the thing out and converting pain into pleasure. Which results in him hacking himself to bits. So all good fun.

The TCKR Systems logo is a replication, and can be seen clearly in the ‘San Junipero‘ episode when it’s revealed that Yorkie is a paralysed elderly woman. I’m unsure whether it’s the same hospital or not, but possibly. You never know with Black Mirror. Is the ‘grain’ the same as the Z-Eye or no? Are either of those anything to do with the system in Arkangel? Or the Mushroom? Or MASS? I don’ think it really matters.

Either way, this isn’t really the logo for a product, as there was only one ever made. More the research department than anything. A letterhead, maybe? I don’t know…it’s out of my hands now.
