I could play ‘Stairway To Heaven’ when I was 12. Jimmy Page didn’t actually write it until he was 22. I think that says quite a lot.

If you’re not aware, Frilly Pink Records are the label the thrash metal band Bad News are signed to. If you’re not aware of who Bad News are, it’s probably worthwile looking into it. What’s strange about them (other than the obvious) is that they were conceived of roughly around the same time as Spinal Tap. As ‘This is Spinal Tap‘ is (rightly) regarded as an absolute comedy classic, you can forgive people (usually Americans) assuming that Bad News is a bit of a rip-off. Not so. In fact, the ‘Bad News Tour’ episode of The Comic Strip was actually broadcast in 1983, whereas Tap was released in 1984. Both bands are British though, so I suppose we win that one, regardless.

The logo is a nod to one of the larger record labels out there. Though it is an older version, so maybe I get away with it a bit more than usual. I was originally not going to go with pink, but then realised that heavy metal (certainly heavy metal from the early 80s) isn’t particularly well known for its subtlety and nuance. So nuts to it. If it’s called ‘pink’ it is pink.
